TUF Advances AI Integration Through Seminar on AI in Academics

Recognizing the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in higher education, the Department of Computer Sciences, Faculty of Information Technology, organized a seminar titled “AI Essentials in Academics: Empowering Education, Enhancing the Future” in Saleem wing. The session focused on enhancing AI awareness and practical understanding among faculty, staff, and administration, with particular emphasis on the integration of emerging technologies into academic and administrative practices.

Prof Dr Majid Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Information Technology, addressed the topic “AI Essentials in Academics: Why is AI Needed in Academics?” He highlighted the growing significance of AI in higher education and emphasized the urgent need for educators and academic professionals to understand and adopt emerging technologies to keep pace with evolving academic demands.

Dr Talha Farooq Khan, Assistant Professor and Head of the BSAI Program, TUF delivered a comprehensive lecture on “Integration of AI in Academics.” He explored practical applications, tools, and strategies for integrating AI into teaching, research, and data-driven decision-making. An interactive Q&A session further enabled participants to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with the implementation of AI in academic settings.

In his closing remarks, Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF, shared his concluding thoughts and key takeaways. He emphasized that Artificial Intelligence has become an essential part of the modern academic and professional landscape, stating that AI has become indispensable, and those who do not learn and adapt to it may find it increasingly difficult to keep pace with the changing demands of the future. He encouraged faculty, staff, and administration to embrace AI-powered learning and intelligent innovation to enhance efficiency, strengthen academic excellence, and remain prepared for a technology-driven future.
