Seminar on Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness

The Psychological Health and Wellbeing Society, Saleem Wing, The University of Faisalabad, organized seminar titled “Suicide Prevention Through Awareness, Early Intervention & Community Support,” highlighting the importance of mental health awareness, early intervention, timely professional support, and community care. Dr Jawaad Muhammad Shujaat, Guest Speaker, shared valuable insights on suicide prevention, psychological well-being, and the importance of seeking timely professional support. Dr Saleem Abbas, Head of the Department, encouraged students and appreciated their participation.

Held under the guidance of Ms Mariam Farooq, Focal Person, Psychological Society, the workshop featured awareness-based activities, including a Skit Competition and Chart Competition, in which students from different semesters of the Department of Psychology highlighted the importance of empathy, emotional support, professional intervention, and suicide prevention.

The Department of Psychology, Amin Wing, also organized an awareness seminar focusing on suicide prevention and mental health, emphasizing early intervention, timely support, and community care. Mr Zia Razaq, Practicing Clinical Psychologist, delivered an informative session on suicide prevention and the importance of seeking professional support when needed. Ms Noreena, Lecturer, Department of Psychology, shared valuable insights on mental health awareness. Psychology students actively participated in the seminar through meaningful awareness activities, making the event an engaging learning experience and reinforcing the importance of mental health awareness and support.
