Faculty Capacity Building for Excellence in Outcome-Based Education

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), TUF successfully organized a two-day Hands-on Training on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) for faculty members on 11th August 2026 at Saleem Wing and on 12th August at Amin Wing. The training was designed to strengthen faculty understanding and practical implementation of the Outcome-Based Education framework, ensuring alignment with modern academic quality standards and accreditation requirements.

The training workshop was inaugurated by Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF who highlighted the significance of Outcome-Based Education in enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and student assessment. He emphasized that adopting OBE practices is essential for producing competent graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to meet national and international educational standards.

The sessions were conducted by Dr Abdul Shakoor (PhD, PFHEA, FPAE, FIEP), who provided comprehensive hands-on training on OBE concepts, formulation of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), constructive alignment, assessment strategies, and practical implementation of OBE in academic programs. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants gained practical experience in designing outcome-based curricula and assessment plans.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where faculty members discussed implementation challenges and shared ideas for strengthening academic practices. The initiative reflects TUF’s continued commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and continuous professional development by equipping faculty members with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for effective Outcome-Based Education implementation.
