Empowering Through Health Education
The Rehabilitation Society of The University of Faisalabad organized a Menstrual Equity Initiative at Crescent Government Girls High School on 28 July 2026 to promote menstrual health awareness and empower adolescent girls through comprehensive health education. Student volunteers from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences conducted an engaging awareness session covering the menstrual cycle, menstrual hygiene, common misconceptions, and the safe use and disposal of sanitary products, creating a supportive environment for learning and open discussion.
The interactive session encouraged active participation through a quiz, allowing students to ask questions and gain evidence-based knowledge about menstrual health and hygiene. The initiative aimed to reduce stigma surrounding menstruation while equipping participants with practical information to adopt healthy hygiene practices and make informed decisions regarding their well-being. The administration of Crescent Government Girls High School appreciated the initiative and acknowledged its positive impact on promoting health awareness among adolescent girls.
The Menstrual Equity Initiative reflects the Rehabilitation Society's commitment to community engagement, health promotion, and social responsibility. By advancing awareness of menstrual health and hygiene, the activity contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), reinforcing The University of Faisalabad's mission to create healthier and more informed communities.
