Department of Physiology Conducts Research Excellence Webinar on Scientific Writing and AI

The Department of Physiology, The University of Faisalabad, organized the second webinar of its Research Excellence Series, titled "Scientific Writing, Literature Synthesis, and Publishing in the Age of AI," through Google Meet. The webinar featured Dr Muhammad Tahir Sarfraz Khan, PhD in Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology, and Experimental Medicine and Research Assistant at the Instituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia e dell'Emilia Romagna (IZSLER), Italy. Drawing upon his international research experience, he delivered comprehensive sessions on scientific writing, evidence synthesis, AI-assisted research workflows, and scholarly publishing, followed by interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions.

The webinar was designed to strengthen the research competencies of students, faculty members, and early-career researchers by providing practical guidance on developing high-quality scientific manuscripts, conducting systematic literature reviews, utilizing modern AI-powered research tools, and navigating the publication process. The session also emphasized the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic research while maintaining scientific integrity, transparency, and research excellence. Participants gained valuable insights into literature searching, reference management, scientific communication, and best practices for improving publication success.

The webinar successfully enhanced participants' understanding of scientific writing standards, literature synthesis methodologies, AI-assisted research tools, and ethical scholarly publishing practices. By encouraging evidence-based research, technological innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Department of Physiology reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence and preparing emerging researchers with the skills required to produce impactful, high-quality scientific research. The initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
