Quality Education
The Department of Islamic Studies organized an event to observe International World Arabic Day on 18th December 2025, highlighting the importance of the Arabic language and its relevance to Islamic learning.
The event was graced by Dr. Humaira Khalil, Associate Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, as the Chief Guest. The program also featured a virtual guest lecture by Dr. Habib-ul-Allah Khan, Assistant Professor, International Islamic University Islamabad, who shared valuable scholarly insights on the importance of Arabic and Tajweed in understanding the Holy Qur’an. As part of the celebrations, a Tajweed Quiz Competition was arranged to encourage students’ academic participation. The competition was judged by Ms. Safia Jaffar, Lecturer, Department of Islamic Studies, and Dr Ammara Rehman, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Studies.


Three teams participated in the competition:
Team A comprised Amna and Hafiza Azal Hafeez (BS Psychology), along with Afnan Ashraf (BS Optometry).
Team B included Fatiha Mir, Noor Fatima, and Hafsa Ali (DPT).
Team C consisted of Nida Fatima and Maryam Shafi (BS Islamic Studies), along with Iqra Siddique (DPH).
After a competitive round, Team C secured first position in the Tajweed Quiz Competition. A cash prize was awarded to the winning team, while certificates of participation were distributed among all participants in recognition of their efforts. The event concluded successfully, reflecting the Department of Islamic Studies’ commitment to promoting the Arabic language, Tajweed, and Qur’anic studies among students.
