Global Perspectives on Justice: International Humanitarian Law Course Conference

Day 1 of the 2-day training on International Humanitarian Law began with insightful sessions on the principles, rules, and contemporary applications of IHL. Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof Dr Sami Ur Rahman, warmly welcomed the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The sessions were led by Muhammad Imran, Legal Advisor, ICRC, M. Hassan Khalil, Lecturer Law, University of Peshawar, and Usman Khan, Legal Advisor, ICRC, who shared real-world examples, case studies, and legal frameworks that guide humanitarian action in conflict situations.

Day 2 of the International Humanitarian Law training concluded with insightful sessions by Mr Hassan Khalil and Mr Muhammad Imran, exploring combatant status and the application of IHL during conflicts. Engaging discussions and contemporary case questions enriched the audience’s understanding of humanitarian response in crises. Dean Prof Dr Sami Ur Rahman led the closing ceremony by thanking the ICRC whose delegation came for the first time to Faisalabad. He emphasized on remembering at least the general principles of the International Humanitarian Law. He also distributed certificates among audiences and shields of honour among guest speakers.
