Eye Screening Camp to Promote Community Eye Health

The Department of Optometry, in collaboration with the Admissions Office – Outreach Department, successfully organized an Eye Screening Camp at Riphah International College, Sargodha Road Campus, Faisalabad. Students of BS Optometry (7th Semester) actively participated in the activity, conducting a range of eye assessments including:

• Visual Acuity Measurement
• Refraction
• Colour Vision Evaluation
• Assessment of Convergence Anomalies (Near Point of Convergence & Accommodation)

Ms. Fatima Yousaf delivered an insightful session on common ocular diseases and dry eye syndrome, enhancing students’ clinical understanding while promoting public awareness on eye health and preventive care. This initiative provided students with valuable hands-on clinical experience and highlighted the importance of community eye health. It also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education, reinforcing the University’s commitment to social responsibility and quality healthcare education.
