Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar and Workshop

Marking Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the Department of Radiography and Imaging Sciences hosted an impactful seminar and hands-on workshop to raise awareness about breast cancer. The event was a significant academic and community outreach initiative aimed at educating both students and professionals on the critical topics of breast cancer detection, diagnosis, and management. The seminar served as a platform to foster awareness and encourage proactive health practices among future healthcare professionals. 
Dr Mohammad Khalid, Head of the Oncology Department at FMU Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, delivered a compelling address on the importance of early detection and the latest advancements in oncology treatments. His presence added both prestige and clinical depth to the seminar.   
Keynote speaker Dr Anjum Mehdi, Head of the Radiography and Imaging Sciences Department at TUF, provided a departmental perspective, highlighting the role of diagnostic imaging in the early identification of breast cancer and commending the department's commitment to public health education.
Dr Nosheen Ahmed, Associate Professor, Faisalabad Medical University, shared insights into clinical challenges and patient-centered care practices in breast cancer treatment. Her academic perspective helped bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application.
The seminar also benefited greatly from the technical expertise of Dr Hassan Bukhari, Interventional Radiologist and Assistant Professor at Faisalabad Medical University, who elaborated on interventional procedures and imaging techniques that have become pivotal in modern breast cancer management.
Adding a surgical perspective, Dr Saira Saleem, Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon from Madinah Teaching Hospital, engaged the audience with her session on surgical approaches that combine oncologic safety with cosmetic outcomes, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of breast cancer care. 

The closing remarks were presented by Prof Dr Tahira Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, who commended the department for organizing such a meaningful event and university’s dedication to developing socially responsible professionals who not only excel in academics but also contribute to awareness campaigns that impact the community.  
Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF, acknowledged the contributions of all guest speakers, faculty, and students. He also reiterated the university’s vision of promoting health awareness and academic excellence through such collaborative events. 
The team also visited Madinah Teaching Hospital, where an insightful training session was conducted by experienced professionals.
