APSUP Olympiad – National Inter-University Championship (Faisalabad Chapter)

The grand opening ceremony of the APSUP Olympiad – National Inter-University Championship (Faisalabad Chapter) was held at The University of Faisalabad on October 27, 2025. The event brought together talented athletes and teams from leading universities across Punjab in a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and leadership.

Renowned international Kabaddi players Mr Heera Butt and Mr Ghulam Abbas Butt honored the event as Chief Guests, adding prestige to the championship’s opening ceremony. Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector TUF, and Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar TUF, Director Sports and coaches of participating universities graced the occasion with their presence. The event was organized under the supervision of the Directorate of Sports, TUF.

Representing APSUP’s vision of promoting youth engagement and healthy competition, the opening ceremony featured participating teams from University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), Government College Women University Sialkot, University of Sargodha, University of Mianwali and the University of Faisalabad. The APSUP Olympiad began with great enthusiasm and pride as the Rector, TUF administered the Oath of Sportsmanship to the student players. The ceremony began with an impressive team march-past, showcasing the enthusiasm and discipline of the young athletes. TUF talented players also presented an exciting Taekwondo Poomsae performance.

In his inaugural address, Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik commended APSUP’s initiative in promoting collaboration among higher education institutions and encouraging students to excel in both academics and sports. Mr Heera Butt in his address expressed heartfelt appreciation for the enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship displayed by the players. He praised the TUF’s efforts in promoting sports alongside academics, emphasizing that such festivals play a vital role in nurturing teamwork, leadership, and a healthy competitive spirit among youth. The APSUP Olympiad marks the beginning of a series of exciting inter-university competitions aimed at promoting unity, talent, and the spirit of healthy competition among students.
