Academic Tour to Shifa International Hospital

Academic tour of 8th semester to Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, arranged by Faculty of department of Nutrition and Dietetics, The University of Faisalabad. Students gained comprehensive knowledge from premier sources for the practice and implementation of advanced technology of Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences in hospital areas.

The dietitians of Shifa International Hospital, gave detailed lectures on the role of Nutrition in etiology of disease and monitoring the Nutritional status of patients Admitted in different wards of Hospital. Students visited the Hospital's kitchen and got to know about therapeutic meal preparations by their Head chef. They gained clinical knowledge on how to use nutritional strategies to mantain the health of patients with comorbidities.

Further aspects including Specificied tray serving according to the disease, Disposable utensils for patients to implement complete hygienic rules and regulations were confered about. They also had a discussion about clinically driven Nutrition insights to advance the knowledge of students, application of Nutrition in clinical field and MNT's
