Eligibility Criteria

18 of Education, MS/M Phil or Equivalent degree from HEC recognized university with minimum 3.00/4.00 CGPA in semester system or 60% marks in Annual system. A Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test administered by the Education Testing Service, or a graduate admission test administered by the Education Testing Council, or an equivalent TUF test developed by TUF is mandatory to pass.

OBJECTIVES

  • To equip our postgraduates with sound academic knowledge of Biotechnology, and diverse research skills set.
  • To train our postgraduates to become an independent research scientist to establish their career in academics, research organizations and industries.
  • To transform postgraduates to professional biotechnologists to take lead in solving worldly issues such as climate change, treatment of waste water, alternatives for limiting natural resources, management of wastes and production of vaccines and antibiotics.

ROLE AND SCOPE

Biotechnology is playing a significant role in improving our health and life. The field of biotechnology believes in green technology and focuses on the adaptation of environmental friendly processes and biosynthesis of industrial products. Advancement in medical biotechnology is leading our way to a more targeted tumor treatment approach through gene therapy. We are using direct and indirect genetic manipulation techniques to improve grain yield from plants, and milk and meat production from animals. Moreover, a latest approach in Biotechnology is to introduce innovative products using economical resources including waste materials. Biotechnology careers hold great promise for new postgraduates. We welcome our students to prepare them to contribute back to the society in a remarkable way through Biotechnology.
