Acceptance for Master course depends on the student's prior Ievel of 16 year of education in any of the following programs: lnterior Design & Architecture.

INTRODUCTION

Master of Interior Design offered at The University of Faisalabad is an extensive professional degree program curated to address cultural, social, and practical concerns examining materials, furniture, and lighting, sustainability in interior environment and emerging materials & technologies as one plans new and innovative spaces. The curriculum is fashioned to merge the creative thinking and business sensibilities under the domain of interior design to develop a coherent interdisciplinary approach that let interior designers collaborate between various programs and industries and explore alternative approaches to creative practice. It further explores contemporary identity of interiors from its conception to execution in the globalized society and culture of today. The program offered also includes specialized syllabi on adaptive reuse with a clear focus on strategical account for the importance of social and environmental responsibility by understanding adaptive reuse as a product of both practice and theory.

A total of 4 semesters, spanning over two years, the degree requires 30 credits of theory & studio courses and a 6 credit thesis subject to be rendered complete for graduation. The final year degree project allows for continued development through advanced research in specialized area synthesizing key concepts learned and demonstrated expertise in a chosen area of specialization.

This programme is unique in that it offers its own research, design and creative practice modules allowing students to develop a wide range of practical and research skills.
