Workshop 1, a pre-conference session on Soxhlet Extraction, was organized by the Department of Dermal Sciences – TUF in collaboration with the Skin Care Society as part of the 5th International Conference on Dermal Sciences 2026. The session provided students with both theoretical knowledge and practical insights into this widely used extraction technique.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Sana Javed, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, TUF, and Dr. Sana Shahzad, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Department of Pharmacy, TUF. They delivered an engaging session covering the working principle, apparatus setup, continuous solvent reflux, and essential laboratory safety protocols. Participants actively engaged in discussions, enhancing their understanding through interactive learning.
The session strengthened students’ knowledge of laboratory extraction methods, improved their practical skills, and emphasized the safe handling of solvents, making it a valuable pre-conference learning experience.


A pre-conference Pico Laser Workshop was conducted by the Department of Dermal Sciences – TUF in collaboration with the Skin Care Society as part of the 5th International Conference on Dermal Sciences 2026.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Rooha Tariq, an aesthetic physician, who delivered an insightful presentation on advanced Pico Laser technology. Key topics included the mechanism of action and clinical applications such as skin rejuvenation, pigmentation treatment, acne scars, and tattoo removal, along with essential safety protocols and patient care.
The workshop also featured a hands-on demonstration, allowing participants to observe real-time procedures and gain practical exposure to equipment handling and clinical techniques. Active participation and interactive discussions enhanced understanding of modern, non-invasive aesthetic treatments.


A pre-conference Kintsugi Art Workshop titled Healing Through Art was organized by the Department of Dermal Sciences – TUF as part of the 5th International Conference on Dermal Sciences 2026.

The lecture explored its philosophy of embracing imperfections, its historical origins, and its relevance to dermal sciences, particularly in the context of restorative aesthetics and healing.
The session received an overwhelming response, with active participation from faculty across various departments, making it a unique and enriching pre-conference experience.


As part of the ICDS 2026 workshop series themed Wound Management and Skin Repair, the Burn Management Workshop was organized by the Department of Dermal Sciences – TUF in collaboration with the Skin Care Society.
Facilitated by Dr. Zahid Nagra, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, the session provided in-depth knowledge of acute burn care, emergency protocols, and dressing techniques. It included interactive lectures, Q&A sessions, and hands-on demonstrations to ensure practical learning.

The Care of Neuropathic Foot Workshop was conducted by the Department of Dermal Sciences and the Skin Care Society under the banner of ICDS 2026 (Wound Management and Skin Repair).
Facilitated by Dr. Salman Azhar, Consultant Medicine Specialist, the session provided valuable insights into the management of neuropathic and diabetic foot conditions. It combined interactive lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and case-based discussions to strengthen participants’ clinical skills.

Under the pre-conference workshop series of ICDS 2026, themed Wound Management and Skin Repair, the Department of Dermal Sciences – TUF and the Skin Care Society, in collaboration with Rescue 1122, organized a Rescue Workshop.
The session focused on essential life-saving skills, including CPR, bleeding control, and emergency response, combining expert instruction with hands-on practice. Certified Rescue 1122 trainers delivered lectures and practical demonstrations on CPR techniques, choking management, fracture handling, and pre-hospital emergency care.
Participants were trained in correct hand placement, compression depth, and rhythm for high-quality CPR, along with effective bleeding control methods such as direct pressure, limb elevation, and proper bandaging. A hands-on session allowed participants to practice CPR on mannequins under expert supervision, making the workshop highly interactive.
The session significantly enhanced participants’ knowledge, skills, and confidence in managing emergency situations, encouraging them to act as responsible first responders in both clinical and community settings.
