Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day across TUF Wings: Patriotism, Unity, Youth Engagement & Environmental Responsibility TUF celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with vibrant festivities across its wings. Organized by the Center of Collective Activities (CCA) in collaboration with student societies and clubs, the events brought together students, faculty, and staff in a powerful display of patriotism, creativity, and commitment to a greener, stronger nation.

The festivities commenced with a solemn Flag Hoisting Ceremony. Chief Guest Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF and Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, TUF, graced the event.

Student Activities & Performances

Students displayed their creative talents in Poster, Speech, Reel, and National Song Competitions. Additionally, the Azadi Tournament added energetic athletic competition with matches in Ludo, Arm Wrestling, and Table Tennis.

Environmental Stewardship: 79th Independence Day Plantation Drive

A key highlight was a dedicated Tree Plantation Drive organized by the TUF Rehabilitation Society, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Forestry & Range Management, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).

Planting of 79 trees—symbolizing 79 years of national independence—in alignment with the broader Green Pakistan vision.

  • Chief Guest: Dr Fahad Rasheed, Chairman of the Department of Forestry & Range Management (UAF), emphasized the vital role of educational institutions and youth in driving environmental sustainability.
  • Planted Species: Gulmohar, Amaltas, Kachnar, Bakain, Jamun, Shehtoot (Mulberry), Philkan, Rose, and Jatropha.
  • Closing Remarks: Dr Marium Zafar, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, offered a vote of thanks to the university administration, UAF delegates, faculty, and student volunteers.

"1000 Trees Per Year" Initiative

Under the umbrella of the CCA and Student Societies, its "1000 Trees Per Year" Plantation Drive, with students and faculty planting trees across various locations in Faisalabad to support a sustainable future.

Winners of Co-Curricular Activities

Students actively engaged in Speech, Poster, and Milli Song Competitions to honor the sacrifices of the nation's founders. The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony recognizing outstanding performers:

  • Speech Competition Winner: Mr Tayyab Imran (Department of Computer Science)
  • Poster Competition Winner: Ms Minahil Fatima (Department of Nutrition & Basic Sciences / NBS)
  • National Songs Competition Winner: Mr Jehu Arioch

Together, the celebrations across Saleem, Amin, and Jinnah wings reflected TUF’s commitment to empowering young people with a strong sense of patriotism, responsibility, creativity, and community spirit, inspiring them to play their part in shaping a better and brighter Pakistan.
