Doctor of Medical Lab Sciences is a 5 year degree program in Pathological Sciences that will prepare graduates for senior positions in the medical laboratory. The core curriculum implies the theoretical knowledge, practical skills and problem-solving capacities necessary for entry into practice at the scientist level. After getting enrolled in the program, students will experience a conducive learning environment at the University Wing and MTH diagnostic Laboratory where the theoretical background introduced during lecture sessions will be allied to clinical laboratory practice by developing methodological proficiency. The educational knowledge will be incorporated with clinical internships at local affiliated clinical laboratory. This degree program is exactly planned to meet the academic requirements and skills as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Pakistan.

The fundamental concerns of the program are:

  • To facilitate students with pathology training that emphasis interpretive, management, and investigative skills
  • To educate students to incorporate theoretical knowledge into practicality
  • After the successful completion of the degree, students will be able to
  • Collect samples and prepare human samples for analysis. They become familiar with how they are supposed to preserve those samples.
  • Get knowledge of how to operate clinical laboratory instruments promptly after proper orientations
  • Conduct tests using quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, and reagents, evaluate results and use collective actions when indicated
  • Get proper demonstrations and lectures under the supervision of experts
  • Working collaboratively with peers and colleagues

About Us

The department of pathology of the University of Faisalabad has the latest equipment and laboratory instruments. It has developed a diverse variety of modern equipment to teach students, such as CCTV camera Microscope with LED, Multi-Head Microscope and Binocular microscope, etc. The department has qualified and dedicated faculty to teach students, which can be depicted from students' results. The department aims to cater to students with training in various specialties of Pathology, making them competent professionals to serve in the health care clinic and department in all over the world.

Amna Hall, Khadija Hall, Ayesha Hall, Fatima Hall, Zainab Hall, Ruqaiya Hall, and TUFIANS are hostels having furnished rooms to accommodate more than 1200 students.
