School of Rehabilitation Sciences, TUF organized a one day workshop on “Principles and application of Kinesio-Tapping Techniques” for students of Doctor of Physical Therapy, 8th Semester. The session was held in Saleem Auditorium on April 13, 2019.
Resource Person, Dr Atif Dustgir; PT delivered lecture on the basic principles of the methodology application, methods of treatment with kinesio–tapping and effects of its application. The training session was very useful for DPT students.
School of Dermatological Sciences conducted a seminar on “Sun Protection” to create awareness among the students of the University.
Head of School, Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid presided over the seminar. Dr Samiya Khan Niazi, Medical Aesthetics from Canada and renowned Dermatologist of Faisalabad Dr Raheela were the guest speakers. “Ask the experts” session gave opportunity to the audience to get benefit from them. Through a skit performance, students conveyed their message to the audience on the topic “Prevention is better than cure” in humorous and effective way.

Dr Waseem Javaid; PT from Shalamar Hospital & Institute of Health Sciences Lahore was the recourse person. Dr Waseem delivered comprehensive lecture on skills about traction, mobilization of cervical and temporomandibular joint.
School of Islamic Sciences organized a seminar on “New Directions of Islamic Research” in Amin Auditorium . Renowned Islamic Scholar Dr Saeed Ahmed Saeedi from University of the Punjab Lahore was the Resource person. He delivered comprehensive lecture on new directions in research in the Islamic Studies
World malaria day was marked in The University of Faisalabad on April 24, 2019. The theme of year 2019 was “I raise my hand to defeat malaria”. Speaking on the occasion in his keynote address Prof Dr Zahid Masood, HoD Community Medicine, UMDC disclosed that still half of the world population was at the risk of malaria. Every two minutes a child dies due to malaria. The estimated number of malaria deaths in 2017, at 435 000 globally, remained virtually unchanged over the previous years. Dr Masood further added that integrated vector control program and community participation was only solution to address the issue. He disclosed that vaccine against malaria (P. falciparum) has been launched and being used in a few African countries.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Adnan Ahmad, District Health Officer Faisalabad said that awareness programs play a key role in prevention and control of any disease. P. vivax was more prevalent in Faisalabad and Pakistan; he added. He further told that malaria was preventable and curable. He explained the measures taken by Government of Punjab to prevent and control menace of malaria. Dr Uzma Sagheer and Ms Maham also spoke on the occasion. Students of 4th year MBBS presented very informative videos with reference to malaria day 2019. Large number of students and faculty members attended the event.
Earth does not belong to us but we belong to earth. Community Services Society has arranged a awareness lecture about Earth day in Govt. School Bhawana Bazar Faisalabad on April 22, 2019. The purpose was to spread awareness about global issues regarding #Water_Shortage and its conservation’

On the closing day Prof Dr Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences was the chief guest. Internationally renowned speakers Dr Agustine L Gonzalez, Director Eye & Vision USA, Dr Malcolm S Samuel, Medical Director Optimax UK, Maj Gen(R) Dr Mazhar Ishaq, Dean of Ophthalmology, College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan, Prof Dr Qasim Lateef, Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Prof Dr Suhail Sarwar, Mayo Hospital Lahore, Dr Hashim Ali Khan, Consultant Optometrist, Sehhat Foundation Gilgit, Dr Faisal Rasheed, Optometrist at SZMC Rahim Yar Khan, Dr Qasim Jalali, Head Department of Optometry, University of Lahore and Prof Dr Aamir Ali Chaudhary, Convener Conference Organizing Committee/Vice Principal UMDC delivered talks Myopia. Pre-Conference workshops, 350+ guests/delegates, internationally renowned speakers, more than 45 abstracts and 8 keynote presentations are main features of this mega event.
