International Women’s Day celebrated at TUF

Every year, March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day, an occasion to celebrate the progress made by women in all walks of life. International Women’s Day 2019 campaign theme of Better the Balance, Better the World” is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world.  TUF Community organized an event to observe the day in Health Sciences Campus.

 

Speaking to the TUFIANS, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar and Chairperson Women Foundation, Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid, Head School of Dermatology, Prof Dr Nayab Alia, Head Department of Radiology, Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH), Prof Dr Aisha Sajid, Head Department of Pediatrics, MTH, Dr Saira Saleem, Associate Professor Surgery, MTH, Dr Shirza Nadeem Associate Professor Forensic Medicine, UMDC,  Dr Maimoona Abdulaziz, Head School of English Language & Literature,    Dr Komal Atta, Assistant Professor Optometry and  Dr Durr-e-Ashian, Deputy Registrar shared their experiences and achievements to motivate them.

During the panel discussion with students, these dynamic ladies of TUF community threw light on the role and importance of women for the progress of a nation. They emphasized on female students to devote themselves to their studies to play their role more efficiently for the progress of their motherland. An awareness walk was also organized to mark the day. The message of women’s rights and their vital role in nation building was marvelously depicted by the TUFIANS.
