Once again Raiqa Tahir final year MBBS and Maria Fiaz fourth year MBBS hanged the moon by getting 1st position in English and 3rd position in Urdu debate respectively in UHS debate contest.
Regional level contest among 15 medical and dental colleges of Faisalabad, Sargodha, Rawalpindi and Islamabad was held at Watim Medical and Dental College Rawalpindi on March 25, 2019. Maj Gen (R) Jawad Khaliq Ansari, Director Foundation University Islamabad was the chief guest. A big round of applause for qualifying final Punjab level contest to go on path of unending victory with heart and soul prayers.
Scholarship award ceremony for the students of TUF was held on March 29, 2019. Meritorious Scholarships and distinction certificates were awarded to position holder students of each semester of various disciplines. Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Pro Rector and Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar

Religious Society, TUF organized a seminar on “Shab-e-Miraaj” on March 28, 2019. Ms Safia Jafar, Lecturer School of Arabic and Islamic Sciences delivered talk on importance of Shab-e-Miraaj. She also threw light on the teachings of great personalities of Islamic history “Syedna Imam Musa Kazim (Alaeh-i-Salam), Hazrat Umar bin Abdulaziz (Rehmat-Ullah Alaih) and Hazrat Khawaja Junaid Baghdadi (Rehmat-Ullah Alaih).
School of Rehabilitation Sciences arranged a workshop on “Understanding SOAP format for Clinical Rounds” for students of 6th semester on March 22, 2019. Guest speaker Dr Saima Zahid; PT, Assistant Professor, Riphah International University Lahore Campus delivered lecture on the topic.
The University of Faisalabad celebrated Pakistan Resolution Day on 23rd March with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. The day is celebrated to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 23 March 1940. The event
started with the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat Rasool Pak (SAW). Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, ProRector (Health Sciences) with other faculty members, students and staﬀ unfurled the National ﬂag
followed by listening national anthem. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed told that the day is an occasion to promote patriotism and national unity.
Later, special prayer was also oﬀered for the stability, prosperity and integrity of the motherland and
unity of the Muslim Ummah.
Religious Society, TUF under the auspices of School of Arabic and Islamic Sciences organized a program to commemorate Birth Anniversary of Hazrat Ali Karram Allah Wajhahu in Saleem Auditorium on March 21, 2019.
Ms Ayesha Batool and students offered Manaqib of Hazrat Ali Karram Allah Wajhahu. They paid rich tributes to great companion of Holy Prophet (SAW) saying that there was no other personality that could be compared with him in knowledge, wisdom and bravery. They stressed the need to follow the Seerat and teachings of Hazrat Ali (AS) in true letter and spirit.
The University of Faisalabad signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Health Sciences, Lahore. This memorandum aimed at promoting higher education and research & development particularly in the field of health sciences.
H.E Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar Governor of the Punjab/Patron of the University was the chief guest of ceremony held in Health Sciences Campus of TUF on March 20, 2019.
Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Pro Rector, TUF and Prof Dr Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor, UHS signed the agreement in presence of H.E Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Mian Muhammad Hanif (SI), Patron-in-Chief, Madinah Group, Mr Muhammad Haider Amin, Chairman Board of Governors, TUF, Dr Asad Zaheer, Registrar, UHS and other senior faculty members.
This agreement will develop links in the areas of:
- Learning and teaching including the development of a programme leading to an award
- Exchange of students for a given period through a recognized exchange programme
- Exchange of members of the universities
- Exchange of documentation and research material
- Co-ordination through their respective offices in joint or collaborative research projects.
- Governor Punjab in his address appreciated the move to promote research & development culture and high quality professional education in the country.
To acknowledge and reward the efforts of Fourth batch of “Certificate in Teaching and Learning” a certificate distribution ceremony was held on 15th of March under the umbrella of Director Medical Education Dr Tanzeela Khalid and team. Professor Dr Muhammad Saeed Pro-rector Health Sciences wing, The University of Faisalabad was the Chief Guest. He distributed certificates amongst the participants and congratulated them for their commendable efforts. In the end, Dr Tanzeela Khalid thanked all the participants. She also motivated the faculty by stating that now it is the responsibility of the participants to actively and effectively teach their students. She also thanked her team Dr Shirza Nadeem, Dr Sumera Riaz, Dr Sundus Tariq, Dr Saba Tariq and Dr Komal Atta for their contribution in the course. The event was an achievement not only for the learners who received the certificates, but also for the entire Medical Education team. A proud moment indeed!

Invisible Glaucoma (BIG) in Health Sciences wing on March 15, 2019.
Prof Dr Sarfraz Hussain Syed, Head Department of Ophthalmology, DHQ, Prof Dr Aamir Ali Chaudhry, Head Department of Ophthalmology, Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH) and Prof Dr Zahid Siddiq fromMTH in their discussion threw light on causes, prevention and treatment of Glaucoma. They told that Glaucoma is an irreversible cause of blindness. It is also called silent thief of vision. Early prevention and diagnosis can help us in saving vision of many persons around us. Patients with hypertension, diabetes and age more than 40 are at risk of increase intraocular pressure. Students of Optometry also presented a tableau highlighting the issues regarding the diseases.
