The ceremony of MOU regarding declaration of Smoke and Drug-free Campus was held on 15th May 2018, at The University of Faisalabad, Engineering Campus. This is the 3rd institution that declared as Smoke and Drug-free Campus in Pakistan. Syed Zulfiqar Hussain, Consultant Anti Drug/Narcotics campaign from Drug advisory training Hub (DATH) DAP Colombo and the Pro-Rector, The University of Faisalabad, Engineering Campus, Dr.ZahirJavedParacha signed on (MOU) to expedite their efforts for making the Campus Smoke and Drug-free. Focal person on Drug Syed H.M Gilani, Psychologist Kubra Imtiaz, M.S Saimashehzad, Coordinator school programme on Drugs were also present on the occasion.

Scholarships award ceremony for the students, held at Engineering Campus, The University of Faisalabad on May 15,2018 wherein worthy Pro-Rector Dr. Zahir Javed Paracha presided over and distributed the meritorious Scholarships and Certificates among “Tuffians par excellence”. The stupendous ceremony was held in Mukhtar auditorium that ended on national anthem of Pakistan.
Two days workshop on OBE Accreditation and Education system was held on 10th-11th May,2018 in Engineering campus. Guest speaker was Col. Sadiq ur Rehman, Directior QA, Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad. Chief guest Dr. Zahir Javed Paracha, Pro Rector TUF appreciated the efforts of guest speakers and organizing committee with his best wishes.
Tech Hawks 4.0 opening ceremony was held at The University of Faisalabad Engineering campus. The honourable Pro-Rector Prof Dr Zahir Javed Paracha graced the occasion as the chief guest, and faculty and student delegates attended the opening ceremony. The chief guest shared his well wishes to organizing team and participants.
A Workshop on ” Enhancement of Teaching Skills using Total Quality Management (TQM) was organized by Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) under the umbrella of Professional Competency Enhancement Program for the development of all schools of TUF, on May 12, 2018 at Health Sciences Campus. The guest speaker Mr Ashfaq Ahmad delivered a comprehensive lecture to facilitate all the participants, to raise the quality standards of education. Chief Guest, Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed appreciated the motivating style of the speaker and encouraged all the teachers to apply TQM techniques in their practical life.
School of Arabic & Islamic Studies has launched 2 months Spoken Arabic Course for females in Health Sciences Campus. Inaugural ceremony held on May 07, 2018. Prof Ghulam Haider Chishti, Head of School in his address told about the importance of this useful language program for the females. Ms Humera Khalil is coordinator of the course.
Department of Medical Education, University of Dental College, Organized two workshops on 11th and 12th May, 2018 on “SPSS” (Statistical Package for social Sciences ) and “Mendeley” respectively. Facilitator Dr Nauman Malik specially came from Karachi to conduct these workshops. Faculty members both from Clinical and basic Sciences enthusiastically participated in these two “hands on” training sessions to sharpen their research skills.

Final dissertation viva of OD batch 2013-2018 was conducted by School of Optometry on May 09, 2018. External examiners Dr Qaiser Hanif, Assistant Professor Ophthalmology, Allied Hospital Faisalabad and Dr Faisal Rasheed, Optometrist at Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Rahim yar khan and editor Journal inside optometry (JIO) evaluated researches of students with integrity. Both examiners appreciated work of supervisors as well. Editor JIO admired efforts of students and selected top 3 researches for publication in his journal.
Foundation meeting for Pakistan Optometry Council Movement was held on May 10, 2018 in Health Sciences campus, TUF organized by School of Optometry. Chief Guest Professor Dr Muhammad Saeed, Pro Rector TUF and Dr Zahid Siddiq, Professor of Ophthalmology, MTH appreciated the movement and wish all the best for future endeavors.
Optometrists from various regions of Pakistan including KPK, Gilgit and Baluchistan came to meditate and strive for separate Optometry Council. International delegates were also involved through skype link. Efforts of all participants were productive and rewarding. Everyone was grateful of TUF for proving such a platform to excel.
Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology celebrated Forensics Day, 2018 on 9th May at University Medical & Dental College under kind supervision of Professor Dr Muhammad Aslam along with his team Associate Professor Dr Shirza Nadeem, Dr Almas Awan and Dr Rabia Ijaz.
Third year MBBS students displayed their creative skills in the form of models, two dimensional posters & charts which were judged by faculty of Faisalabad Medical University & UMDC. Students also performed a skit on ‘Legal & Social Aspects of Vitriolage’ in a well-organized and competent way.
Respected Guest Speaker, Professor Dr Ahmad Saeed, Dean Basic Medical Sciences & Head Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Faisalabad Medical University conducted an interactive session on ‘Medical Negligence’ with 3rd year MBBS students. He emphasized on accepted standards of care & legal concepts regarding Medical Malpractice. The whole session was very inspirational and impactful.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Pro Rector TUF (Health Sciences Campus) Professor Dr Muhammad Saeed acknowledged the services of Prof Dr Ahmad Saeed in the field of medical education. He also appreciated the efforts of students and faculty for making the event successful.
Professor Dr Muhammad Aslam thanked the Chief Guest, Guest Speaker, judges & faculty for sparing their valuable time. He also appreciated the enthusiasm and passion of his students for making this Forensics Day a memorable one. Students were awarded trophies and certificates at the end of the ceremony.
