It was a much-awaited moment for the first year students of MBBD and BDS on December 18, as they entered the UMDC which they would be part of, for next five years. It was all the more special because their seniors and professors were there to welcome them into the college premises.
An orientation and welcome program was conducted for the fresh entrants at UMDC. The session was intending to help the fresh entrants get to know more about the Campus life, meet their classmates, heads and faculty, and hear about the resources available to them as UMDC students. Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, TUF briefed the students about The University of Faisalabad, University Medical & Dental College, Madinah Teaching Hospital and other welfare projects running under the auspices of Madinah Foundation.
Prof Dr Aamir Ali Choudhry Vice Principal, UMDC in his address emphasized the importance of medical education for serving the suffering humanity in a better way.
Assoc Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, Vice Principal Dental Section, briefed the BDS students about state of the art infrastructure of Dental Section.
Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Principal UMDC in his welcome address told the students about performance of the college and introduced the faculty members to the new comers. He said that UMDC with its highly qualified and experienced faculty and state of the art infrastructure had been providing quality medical education to female students in an enviable environment. He also appreciated the brilliant students of UMDC who got top positions in MBBS and BDS Professional Examinations held by UHS. A free medical camp under the supervision of Prof Dr Haji Muhammad Aslam was also held, where fresh students availed the facility of medical checkup.
