TUF organized a Christmas Cake Cutting ceremony to participate in celebrations with the Christian community.
Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Pro Rector Health Sciences Campus and Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar along with faculty and staff members attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Saeed congratulated the Christian community particularly Christian employees working in TUF and felt pleasure in sharing their joy and happiness.
TUFIANS celebrated the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RehmatU-Allah Alaih) with national spirit and enthusiasm.
A poster competition on the theme “ Quaid Ka Pakistan” amongst the students was organized to mark the day.
Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Pro Rector, Health Sciences Campus, in his addresses paid rich tribute to Founder of Pakistan with words reﬂecting on his passion, courage and determination for the creation of separate homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent. He said that our young generation should follow Quaid’s guiding principle “Unity, Faith and Discipline”. A group of MBBS students got first prize in poster competition.
TUFIANS enjoyed a musical evening cum bonfire in Health Sciences Campus. The event included performances by renowned singers and instrumentalists.
Singers received a lukewarm response from the audience. Students and faculty members enjoyed the event in a fun and entertaining atmosphere.
One of medical’s hallowed traditions was celebrated at UMDC, as the first year students of MBBS and BDS donned their white coats – the most profound symbol of the medical profession, for the first time.
On December 19, 2017, new students gathered with faculty and seniors for the college’s annual white coat ceremony. After donning their new white coats, presented by the second year students, new students recited the Oath pledging allegiance to the medical profession, their companions, seniors and their duty towards their patients.
Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Principal UMDC emphasized the importance of the white coat to the medical students and made them understand their responsibilities. He spoke of the important journey each student is set to embark upon on the road to becoming a doctor.
In addition to words of welcome and wisdom from the Principal, new students also received bouquets from their seniors. The students expressed gratitude towards the college authorities for the ceremony and making them aware about the importance of their profession.
Religious Society, TUF under the auspices of School of Arabic and Islamic Studies organized programs in commemoration of death anniversaries of Syeda Hazrat Amina (Salam Ullah Alaiha), Um-ul-Momineen Syeda Zainab bint Jahash (Razi Allah Ta’ala Anha), Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Auliya (Rahmatullah Alaih), Hazrat Khawaja Qutbuddin Bakhtyaar Kaki (Rahmatullah Alaih) and birthday anniversaries of Syedna Imam Jaafar Sadiq (Alaeh-i-salaam) and Hazrat Rabia Basri (Rahmatullah Alaiha). Faculty members and students from various Schools of TUF attended these programs.
It was a much-awaited moment for the first year students of MBBD and BDS on December 18, as they entered the UMDC which they would be part of, for next five years. It was all the more special because their seniors and professors were there to welcome them into the college premises.
An orientation and welcome program was conducted for the fresh entrants at UMDC. The session was intending to help the fresh entrants get to know more about the Campus life, meet their classmates, heads and faculty, and hear about the resources available to them as UMDC students. Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, TUF briefed the students about The University of Faisalabad, University Medical & Dental College, Madinah Teaching Hospital and other welfare projects running under the auspices of Madinah Foundation.
Prof Dr Aamir Ali Choudhry Vice Principal, UMDC in his address emphasized the importance of medical education for serving the suffering humanity in a better way.
Assoc Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, Vice Principal Dental Section, briefed the BDS students about state of the art infrastructure of Dental Section.
Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Principal UMDC in his welcome address told the students about performance of the college and introduced the faculty members to the new comers. He said that UMDC with its highly qualified and experienced faculty and state of the art infrastructure had been providing quality medical education to female students in an enviable environment. He also appreciated the brilliant students of UMDC who got top positions in MBBS and BDS Professional Examinations held by UHS. A free medical camp under the supervision of Prof Dr Haji Muhammad Aslam was also held, where fresh students availed the facility of medical checkup.

A prestigious ceremony for students of UMDC was held on December 13, 2017. Students were awarded distinction certificates and scholarships for obtaining 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions and other distinctions in MBBS 2nd Professional Examination. Particularly, promising student of UMDC, Namal Ilyas, who got 3rd Position in MBBS 2nd Professional Examination held by UHS Lahore, was presented with ‘Award of Excellence’ by Principal UMDC. Namal’s parents were also present on the occasion.
Giving her views Namal acknowledged that UMDC students are being extended the best academic facilities under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced faculty.

Mehfil-e-Mushaera Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) was held on December 14, 2017 in Mukhtar Auditorium under the auspices of religious society of the School of Arabic and Islamic Sciences. Twelve well-known poets participated in the mushaira and presented their fresh verses in the praise of Holy Prophet (S.A.W). A large number of faculty members and students attended the function. The audience appreciated the poems with open heart. Prof. M Aslam Malik thanked the poets, guests, faculty members and students on behalf of the department, administration and religious society. The function ended with Salat-o-Salam and dua.
A Mehfil-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was held in The University of Faisalabad on December 14, 2017. The program started with recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran and Naat Rasool Maqbool (SAW) offered by the students. Famous Naat Khawan, Prof Abdul Rauf Rufi, Pride of Performance, recited number of “Naats” in his heart touching voice. Faculty members, students and staff of the University attended the Mehfil to express their deep affection for beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) and Allah for His countless blessings. Program concluded with an overwhelming recitation of Dua for the prosperity of the country and for the unity of Muslim Ummah.
School of Computational Sciences, The University of Faisalabad, Engineering Campus organized a series of technical Lectures on Thursday, 13-12-2017, at Mukhtar Auditorium. Keeping in view the industrial requirements, the experts from IEEE, AL Khawarizmi Institute of Computer science, UET Lahore and I.T Industry delivered lectures on the emerging technologies. The students of BS Computer Sciences, Software Engineering & Engineering Technology attended the session. Certificates were given to the participants and shields were presented to faculty and the event organisers.
