Welcome Party & Musical Night at The University of Faisalabad

To celebrate 15 years of excellence, The University of Faisalabad organized a welcome party for the new students. The aroma of food, and colors were all around. It was such a wonderful start for the new students. Students came in huge number to attend the exciting party that had been arranged for them. The event started with a blistering performance of the senior students coming and mesmerizing everyone with their exhilarating performance. Renowned singers Mehak Ali, Sana Zulfiqar, Waqas Ali, Aash Chugtai and Uzair Ahmad performed a variety of musical styles and blew away everyone with their performances. A short comedy skit was also performed by well-known comedian Aman-ullah Khan. The crowd roared, shouted and danced until no energy has been left. The party was well-managed by the combined efforts of students and the management. Everyone enjoyed to their fullest, and left with a smile on their faces and joy inside.

Workshop “Contact lens fitting and assessment”

Since the lens sits directly on the cornea, it is very important that the measurements of your contact lenses are perfectly measured to the measurements of your eye to ensure a comfortable fit and prevent things like eye infections and a painful scratch on your eye.

School of Optometry, TUF once again put a jewel in jewelry by arranging one day hands on training workshop on ‘contact lens fitting and assessment’ on November 23, 2017Internationally certified contact lens practitioner Mr Muhammad Rashid from Al-shifa Eye trust, Islamabad acquainted students of semester vii and ix with handling, fitting and assessment of soft, RGP and scleral contact lens followed by a video demonstration. Ms Rubina Shah, Optometrist, National Eye hospital, Lahore explored the bloom with her experience in corneal topography and refractive surgery. Moreover, her experience in USA and Australia endowed a great inspiration for students.

Event was ended with a humorous skit on importance of contact lens handling by OD vii, cake cutting ceremony and a vote of thanks by Dr Komal Atta, Senior Coordinator, school of optometry.

 

Mehfil Milad-e-Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)

A Mehfil Milad-e-Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was held for females in Health Sciences Campus, TUF on November 24, 2017.  After recitation of the Holy Quran, students offered Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam), Darood-o- Salam, Qaseeda Burda Sharif and Qaseeda Ghausia. The Mehfil-e-Milad concluded with Drood o Salam and ‘Dua’.

Seminar on “Shahadat Syed-e-na Imam Hassan (R.A), wiladat of Hazart Imam Jafar Sadiq (R.A) and wisal of Hazrat Mujaddad Alif Sani (R.A)”

A seminar on “Shahadat Syed-e-na Imam Hassan (R.A), wiladat of Hazart Imam Jafar Sadiq (R.A) and wisal of Hazrat Mujaddad Alif Sani (R.A)” was held on November 22, 2017 at Engineering campus, The University of Faisalabad. Prof. Dr. Syed Izfar Haider, Makan-sharifi addressed the audience about the life of the Islamic heroes and their valuable services. The function was attended by worthy Pro-Rector, faculty members and students. Prof. Dr. Abdul Majeed, Rector of the university presided over the function and urged upon the students to follow the teachings of the Islamic heroes. The function concluded with dua.

Mehfil Milad-e-Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)

A Mehfil Milad-e-Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was held for females at The University of Faisalabad on November 20, 2017. Students from TUF, University College for Women and University Cambridge School participated in the Mehfil.

After recitation of the Holy Quran, students offered Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam), Darood-o- Salam, Qaseeda Burda Sharif, Qaseeda Ghausia and Manaqabe- Ehl-e-Bait (Alaehimus-Salam). Participants expressed their immense love and deep affection for beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) and renewed their pledge to truly follow ‘Seerat-un-Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam). All the audience felt spiritually elevated and bonded together as they listened to the holy recitals.

The Mehfil-e-Milad ended with Drood o Salam and an overwhelming, heart-touching ‘Dua’ for the unity of Muslim Ummah and stability of the Pakistan. Faculty members and mothers of the students also attended the spiritual event.

All Pakistan Intervarsity Qiraat and Naat Competitions at TUF

Religious Society of The University of Faisalabad organized All Pakistan Intervarsity Qiraat and Naat competitions (for females) on November 16, 2017. Students from different Universities of Pakistan participated in these competitions. Prof Dr Abdul Majeed, Rector TUF was the chief guest while Prof Dr Hazoor Ahmad Sabir from GC University Faisalabad was guest of honour.

Prof Arif Siddiqi, Qari Muhammad Khan Chishti, Qari Habib Naeemi and Ms Gul Hooria President Naat Club, University of Agriculture were the judges.

Welcome Party at TUF Hostel

Following the tradition of TUF hostel, a welcome party was organized by the senior TUF hostelites to welcome their juniors. The event was attended by all hostelites and faculty members. Dr. Zaheer javed paracha; pro-rector TUF was the chief guest of the ceremony. All students very actively participated in different events. At the end the prize distribution was conducted and welcome speech to the new hostilities was delivered by the chief guest.

Allama Iqbal day Celebrated at The University of Faisalabad

Allama Iqbal day was organized and celebrated under the auspicious of Literary Society, The University of Faisalabad to tribute Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal (RA), the “Poet of the East”. The function started with the recitation from the Holy Qura’n. Afterwards some verses were recited in the praise of the Holy Prophet (SAW).Mr. Saleem Sheikh was the chief guest and Rector The University of Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Abdul Majeed presided over the function.The chief guest, Mr. Saleem Sheikh presented some verses from “Kulliyat Iqbal” in a beautiful and befitting manner and talked about his poetry and philosophy of Khudi.Prof. Dr. Abdul Majeedshed light on the philosophy of the great poet. The celebration was concluded with the national anthem of Pakistan.

Workshop “Students‘Assessment and Evaluation”

ORIC, TUF organized a workshop on “Students ‘Assessment and Evaluation” in Health Sciences Campus on November 11, 2017. Prof Dr Sadaqat Mehdi, former Rector, Virtual University Lahore was the facilitator.

Student’s assessment and evaluation forms a very important component of the learning process. Fair, accurate and effective evaluation of students’ knowledge and skills is an element that needs to be imported and implemented by a teacher to maintain high quality of education.

Prof Dr Sadaqat focused on such areas as the style of question paper, components of a balanced and effective assessment. He also stressed on issues related to impartiality of a teacher towards all students in the examination and assessment of their knowledge. The session was well-attended by the faculty members of TUF and UMDC.

Islamic Seminar

School of Arabic and Islamic Sciences conducted a seminar to commemorate the death anniversaries of Hazrat Imam Nisaai (RA), Hazrat Malik bin Dinaar (RA) and Hazrat Shah Abdul Lateef Bhataee (RA). The programs held in Health Sciences Campus on November 8, 2017. Speaking to audience, the students of MA Islamic Sciences threw light on the important role of these great personalities of Islamic history in spreading Islam. In their speeches, the students provided a deep insight to the life, practices and teachings of these personalities
