UMDC students got top positions in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology projects competitions

An International conference on Forensic Medicine & Toxicology was held at Serena Faisalabad on February 25-26, 2017. It was attended by 3rd year MBBS students & Faculty members of Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, UMDC. Students actively participated in undergraduate activities under supervision of Prof Dr Haji Muhammad Aslam, HoD. They secured 1st position in model competition and 1st position in theme of stall competition. They also secured 2nd position out of 27 entries in movie competition and won cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The efforts of students and Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology were appreciated by different delegates in the conference, Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Dean Faculty of  Medicine & Allied Health Sciences and Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, TUF.

Seminar on Banking “Paisay ko Pehchano”

School of Management Studies organized a seminar on “ Paisay ko Pehchano” in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan on February 23, 2017.  Mr Ahmad Hayat, Senior Officer (Treasury), Mr Faheem Maqsood, Assistant  Chief Manager and Mr Nadeem Ahmad Tahir, Assistant Chief Manager (Cash) from State Bank were the guest speakers. They delivered informative talks on currency notes security features, detection of forged currency notes, demonetization of old currency notes from December 01, 2016 and currency management strategy to be implemented. Prof Dr Abdul Majeed, Rector, TUF commended the efforts of School of Management Studies for organizing this informative and useful session for students as well as faculty members.

Scholarship Awards Ceremony

To encourage and recognize the hard work of the students, Chairman Board of Governors-ex Madina Foundation formulated Scholar policy. In pursuance to this policy, Nine students of complimentary program for BSCS Fall-16 were awarded merit scholarship where as fourteen students of Fall-16 from BEE, BET, DPT and BSCS-FA-13 were awarded Cash Prizes and certificates on 22nd February, 2017 worthy Rector, Dr Abdul Majeed distributed the awards and congratulated to the distinguished student in a simple but graceful ceremony held at University Conference room in the presence of Head of Schools and University administration.

Death Anniversary of Hazrat Khalid Bin Waleed (RA & Muhammad Bin Qasim (RA)

The Seminar on the death anniversary of Hazrat Khalid Bin Waleed (R.A) and Muhammad Bin Qasim (RA) was observed under auspicious of Religious Society Engineering Campus on 22nd February, 2017 with great reverence and love. Prof Muhammad Ramzan Najam Barvi highlighted the glorious aspects of the life of both great personalities of Islam. The chief guest of the seminar was Sheikh Hamid Nawaz Controller of Examination The University of Faisalabad.

The seminar ended with Slat o Salam and Dua.

Training workshop with 1122 team

School of Rehabilitation Sciences arranged a two days workshop in collaboration with Rescue 1122 in Health Sciences Campus on February 22-23, 2017. Students were taught about how to deal with emergency situation. Before and after test with practical and hands on were also performed for Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, danger, Fire Extinguisher, chocking, abdominal thrust in adults and children.

 

TUF Annual Sports Gala 2017 – Closing Ceremony

Closing ceremony of Annual Sports Festival 2017 of The University of Faisalabad Engineering Campus was held  on February 21, 2017.

Prof Dr Abdul Majeed, Rector TUF was the chief guest on the occasion.

Col. Abid Mushtaq (deputy Register), Maj. Tahir  Zafar (deputy controller Examination) All  HOS  and other faculty members of TUF was also available on this occasion and they appreciated the Team student Affairs  efforts  for organizing sports Gala.  On this occasion, Prizes were distributed among the winners and runner’s up. School of Electrical Engineering was declared Champion of Sports Gala 2017.

Speaking on the occasion Prof Dr Abdul Majeed appreciated the students’ active participation and performance in co-curricular activities. Winners were given away trophies medals and certificates.

18 years old Jaweria turns into Jawad after successful surgery at MTH

Jaweria, a 18-years old girl turned into a boy (Jawad) after successful surgery by Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Malik, Head Department of Urology, at Madinah Teaching Hospital on February 17, 2017.

Akhtar Ali, father of Jaweria, resident of a village near Chiniot, told that he is a labourer, and had 2 daughter and 2 sons.  His 18 years old daughter Jaweria got sick and taken to Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH) where after successful surgery by Dr Muhammad Akram Malik, his daughter turned into son.

Akhtar Ali  and his wife told that their joy knows no bounds as Allah Almighty has blessed them with another son. Parents also thanked the administration of Madinah Teaching Hospital for their cooperation at surgery and other treatment which is totally free of cost.

Dr Akram Malik told that Jawad is healthy.

TUF Annual Sports Gala 2017 – Closing Ceremony

Closing ceremony of Annual Sports Festival 2017 of The University of Faisalabad and University Medical & Dental College was held in Health Sciences Campus on February 16, 2017.

Prof Dr Abdul Majeed, Rector TUF was the chief guest on the occasion.

Prof Dr Abdul Majeed, Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Dean Faculty of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences and other faculty members of TUF and UMDC visited stalls setup on different themes organized by the students and appreciated the students’ efforts to highlight different social aspects of life.  On this occasion, final rounds of different sports and athletic competitions were held among the students. From TUF, stall set up by the students of BS Interior Design achieved first position while from UMDC, MBBS final year students stood first. School of Rehabilitation Sciences was declared best School of TUF in sports while Zainab Liaqat, student of Doctor of Optometry got the award of best sports girl of the year.

TUF Gala Night

Gala Night event for TUF students organized on February 14, 2017. Students from all Schools of TUF threw out live performances, among them including singing, skits and many other fun and colorful activities.  The event was a perfect opportunity for TUFIANS, faculty and staff to get together and enjoy these wonderful moment.

Glimpses of Faculty Matches

Inter Faculty cricket and badminton matches were also important segments of Annual Sports Gala 2017.  Faculty members of TUF and UMDC actively participated in cricket, badminton and other games. University lawn was echoing with slogans as students cheered up their teachers.
