MBBS & BDS Orientation Day 2

Second day of Orientation to MBBS/BDS was started with the White Coat Ceremony on December 6, 2016. Senior students handed over white coats to the fresh entrants. New students took oaths that they will remain loyal to their profession as doctors. A Mehfil-e-Milad was also organized for the fresh entrants. Ms Katrina Hurbik delivered lecture on communicational skills. Students were also introduced with the modern facilities that have been installed in the library and IT lab. Network Administrator from IT and librarian gave them an introduction about these facilities. Furthermore there was a free medical camp under the supervision of Prof Dr Haji Muhammad Aslam. Many students availed the facility of free medical checkup. In the end different sort of games and sports activities were arranged for the students by the coach Ms Tayyaba who shared some sports tips with students that can keep them healthy and fit. There was also friendly cricket match between the students. Winner team was awarded with the trophy.

Farewell Ceremony

The University of Faisalabad arranged a farewell ceremony followed by dinner and light music in honor of four senior most faculty members who had rendered invaluable services during their stay in the university.

On this occasion various speakers including, Prof Dr Abdul Majeed, Rector,The University of Faisalabad, Dr Muhammad Saeed, Dean Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Dr A G Rehan, Principal University Medical and Dental College, Prof Dr Faqir Hussain Khan, Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, Mr Hamid Nawaz Sheikh,Controller of Examination acknowledged their invaluable services for the university and wished for their good health.

In the end Chairman BOG Mian Muhammad Hanif addressed the audience and appreciated the services of outgoing faculty members for the betterment of the university,and presented gifts, shields to them.

MBBS & BDS Orientation

An orientation and welcome program was conducted for the 1st year MBBS & BDS students of UMDC on December 5, 2016.  The session was intending to help the fresh entrants get to know more about the Campus life, Head of Departments and faculty, and hear about the resources available to them as UMDC students. Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Dean Faculty of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences, TUF, Prof Dr A G Rehan, Principal UMDC/ Director Madinah Teaching Hospital and Associate Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, Principal Dental Section graced the occasion to welcome the new students. Heads of all Departments of UMDC and MTH also attended the session.

Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, TUF briefed the students about The University of Faisalabad, University Medical & Dental College, Madinah Teaching Hospital and other welfare projects running under the auspices of Madinah Foundation.

Prof Dr A G Rehan in his welcome address told the students about performance of the College and introduced the faculty members to the new comers. He said that UMDC with its highly qualified and experienced faculty and state of the art infrastructure had been providing quality medical education to female students in an enviable environment. He also stated that co-curricular activities are also given due importance in the College.

Associate Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran told the BDS students about state of the art infrastructure of Dental Section.

Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed in his address emphasized the importance of medical education for serving the suffering humanity in a better way. He said that this institute has high-quality learning facilities and academic support services that can raise you to the top. Furthermore he appreciated the brilliant students of UMDC who got Third and Forth position in UHS Examination MBBS First Professional. He advised the new comers that they should try to continue the tradition of excellence in the academic life.

 Prof Dr Abdul Majeed Rector TUF welcomed the new comers and said that this Alma Mater seeks to change the world, to benefit society, the economy and future generations. We invest considerable resources in areas where we believe we can make the biggest difference and meet tomorrow’s challenges. In the end Rector wished the students good luck for their future life.

Refreshments were served to parents and students at the end of orientation session.

Seminar on “Hepatic Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology”

School of Radiology conducted a seminar on “Hepatic Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology” on December 3, 2016.Resource person Dr Muhammad Fiaz (HOD Radiology, Al-Razi Hospital Lahore & Consultant Interventional Musculoskeletal Radiologist) delivered a lecture on the radiological techniques and answered questions from the audience. While addressing to the audience Dr Khalid Mahmood Yahiya from MTH thanked Dr Muhammad Fiaz and said that such seminars and workshops should be conducted for the help of students. Prof Dr Abdul Majeed presented a shield of honor to the Resource Person Dr Muhammad Fiaz.

Mehfil Milad-e-Mustafa (SAW) 2016

A Mehfil Milad-e-Mustafa (SAW) was held for females at UCW on December 01, 2016. Students from The University of Faisalabad, University College for Women and University Cambridge School participated in the Mehfil.

After recitation of the Holy Quran, students offered Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (SAW), Darood-o-Salam, Qaseeda Burda Sharif, Qaseeda Ghausia and Manaqab-e-Ehl-e-Baet (AS).

Participants expressed their immense love and deep affection for beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and renewed their pledge to truly follow ‘Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW)’.

All the audience felt spiritually elevated and bonded together as they listened to the holy recitals.

The Mehfil-e-Milad ended with Drood o Salam and an overwhelming, heart-touching ‘Dua’ for the unity of Muslim Ummah and stability of the Pakistan by Ms Uzma Shahzadi.

Principals and teachers from different female colleges and mothers of the students also attended the spiritual event.
