A seminar was organized on 2nd November 2016, by the School of Arabic and Islamic Studies of The University of Faisalabad, on Imam Moosa Kazim (RA) and Bahauddin Zakria Multani (RA). The seminar took place in Mukhtar Auditorium. Dr Mohammad Ramzan Barvi narrated Bahauddin Zikria’s biography in great detail and mesmerized the audience by highlighting his sacrifices and charismatic personality.
Furthermore Dr Syed Izfaar Haider Shah, shed some light on Imam Moosa Kazim’s life. He discussed in detail the teachings and sacrifices made by Imam Moosa Kazim (RA). Both speakers spoke brilliantly and the audience remained attentive throughout the session.
Community Services Society of TUF organized “Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar” at Health Sciences Campus on November 1, 2016. In his welcome address Prof Dr Zahid Masood, HOD Community Medicine, UMDC, threw light on the importance of the topic. Capt Dr Kashifa Ahsan from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital Lahore shared her clinical insight with the audience and gave a comprehensive presentation on prevention and treatment of Breast Cancer. In her presentation she informed the audience that Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women, worldwide. Pakistan has one of the highest incidences of breast cancer in Asia. She also suggested that women below the age of 40 should carry regular self examination and those over 40 should undergo regular screening mammography. A student from the School of Optometry also gave a brief presentation on the said topic. In the end, question answer session was held and students asked different questions related to the disease.
