The University of Faisalabad always focuses on the community welfare projects. In furtherance of this objective, a free physical therapy camp was arranged on July 26, 2016 by TUF Rehabilitation Society. Patients were provided with the facilities of,
- Consultation with Physical therapist
- Consultation with Nutritionist
- BMI (Body mass index) calculation
- Consultation with audiologist and speech therapist
- B.P Monitoring
- Blood sugar level test
- Serum Uric acid test
- Free diet chart
- Free medicine.
Patient turnout remained remarkably good as 235 patients were examined out of which 134 were male and 101 female patients and were provided consultation to improve their health by qualified healthcare professionals. Students and faculty members also visited to get awareness of this program chalked out for the patients.
A Mushaira in commemoration with the great martyr (Syyed-ul- Shuhda) Hazrat Ameer Hamza (RA) was held under the auspicious of Religious Society of the School of Arabic and Islamic Sciences, The University of Faisalabad on 20th July, 2016. The Poets highlighted the supreme qualities of Hazrat Ameer Hamza (RA) i.e. his courage, bravery and his dominant personality in the history of Islam. The Mushaira was presided over by Prof. Dr. Majeed, Rector The University of Faisalabad. The Function ended with Salat-o- Salam and Dua.
Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan Mr Salman Farooqi visited The University of Faisalabad. While addressing the faculty members and students in Saleem Auditorium, he mentioned his efforts to release the prisoners who had served their sentences but are not released due to nonpayment of their fine. He told that we made their release possible after paying their fines with the help of philanthropists. He appreciated the contribution of Mian Muhammad Hanif Chairman, Madinah Foundation in this regard. Mian Muhammad Hanif Chairman BOG, TUF appreciated the services of office of Federal Ombudsman for the betterment of underprivileged people. Prof Dr Abul Majeed, Rector of the University in his address briefed the audience about the academic achievements of TUF.
A lecture on “World Population Day” was delivered by Prof Dr Zahid Masood HoD Department of Community Medicine,UMDC on July 11, 2016. He highlighted the importance of the theme of World Population Day – “Investing in teenage girls”. Assit Prof Dr Sumera Shahzad also added that there would be 15% fewer child deaths if all women had a primary school education. On the occasion participants also expressed their views.
