Certificate Distribution Ceremony of CTL

Certificate distribution ceremony of 2nd batch of (CTL) was held at TUF on April 8, 2016.

The occasion was graced by Prof Dr A G Rehan, Principal UMDC, Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Dean Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, TUF, Dr Musarrat ul Hasnain, Professor of Medical Education and  Dr Sumera Badar, Asst Professor Medical Education from Punjab Medical College.

Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid, Deputy Director Medical Education, UMDC appreciated the efforts of the participants and congratulated them.

The educational aim of this course was to develop faculty members of UMDC into effective teachers by helping them in improving their teaching skills and professional attitudes. The things discussed during the course have direct implications in their work. Interest and enthusiasm  of participants have shown indeed a good sign for the future.

Participants were awarded certificates at the end.

TUF observes World Health Day

School of Nutrition and Dietetics, TUF organized Intervarsity Therapeutic Diet Development Competition in context of World Health Day on April 7, 2016. The theme of the competition was to prepare anti- diabetic diet menu, participated by students from different Universities of Faisalabad. The competition was evaluated by the four judges including Ms Shazia Zahra, Nutritionist from Fatima Memorial Hospital, Ms Surrya, Nutritionist from Allied Hospital, Major Qaseem Waqar, Nutritionist from WAPDA Hospital and Dr Naheed Abbas, HoD, Home Sciences, University of Agriculture. They appreciated the students’ efforts for this awareness session. The result was as follows:

First Position:                    The University of Faisalabad (DND – 6th Semester)

Second Position:        Government College University for Women, Madina Town

Third Position:            The University of Faisalabad (DND – 4th Semester)

The winners were awarded prizes by Prof Dr Syed Jawad Hussain, Head School of Nutrition & Nutrition Dietetics, TUF.

World Health Day observed in MTH

In context of World Health Day, Department of Medicine, Madinah Teaching Hospital organized a Free Diabetic Camp and awareness session for diabetic patients on April 7, 2016.  Addressing to the patients Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood Yahya, Head Department of Medicine, gave them awareness regarding control and treatment of the disease. He suggested precautionary measures to prevent the new generation from Diabetes.  He advised them to reduce weight and take balanced diet in order to prevent different diseases. In this free camp different tests were conducted and medicines were given to the patients.

Death Anniversaries of Hazrat Lut (AS) and Syeda Asma Bint-e-Abubakar (RA)

Religious Society, TUF organized a seminar in commemoration of “Death Anniversary of Hazrat Lut (AS) and Death Anniversary of Syeda Asma Bint-e-Abubakar (RA)” on April 7, 2016 at Saleem Campus. Students from School of Islamic studies threw light on the Holy lives of both the great personalities of Islamic history. Manaqib were also recited by the students.

Cloud Computing – An Overview

Major (R) Muhammad Saeed, Head of School of Computational Sciences conducted an informative and interesting seminar on Cloud Computing on 5th  April 2016, he is associated with cloud computing technologies since 2005. This seminar was organized by QEC under the auspices of Faculty Competency Enhancement program at The University of Faisalabad.

Detail working of the cloud computing and cloud storage was given in the seminar. Resource person gave the theoretical background and processing of cloud and then he created a cloud processing computer in real time. He installed latest operating system on a very high performing computing machine. In his seminar resource person covered different aspects of cloud computing such as benefits, types, level, security, implementation and datacenters.

Seminar was attended by a large majority of faculty at the university and everyone appreciated the importance of the topic. Participants were keen to learn new technologies and asked many questions at the end of the seminar.
