Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) and Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), The University of Faisalabad organized a workshop on “Functional Nanomaterials for Applications in Biomedical Sciences, Renewable Energy Technologies & Environment” in Health Sciences wing on December 10, 2019. Dr Irshad Hussain, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, LUMS was the resource person. Dr Hussain is a renowned Pakistani Scientist in the field of chemistry and among the few pioneers to initiate Nanomaterials research in Pakistan. In 2007, Dr Hussain was awarded a Professor Atta-ur-Rehman Gold Medal/Prize in chemistry and more recently (2014) he is also awarded Gold Medal in Chemistry by Pakistan Academy of Sciences to acknowledge his achievements in the field of Chemistry. Dr Irshad Hussain delivered comprehensive talk on Importance of Nanotechnology, Synthesis of metal Nanoparticles (NPs)/Nanoclusters (NCs), Nanomaterials applications in Biomedical Sciences, Renewable Energy Technologies and in Catalysis & Environment.
