MALARIA AWARENESS SESSION

Department of Community Medicine, UMDC organized “Malaria Awareness Session” for female workers of The University of Faisalabad. This session was a part of the activities related to World Malaria Day 2021. The main objective was to spread awareness about the disease among the community members most affected by it and to develop linkage between academia and the community.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Sumera Riaz, Associate Professor Community Medicine educated the female workers of the university about dangerous and harmful effects of malaria. Through pictorial images participants were informed about malaria symptoms and simple protective measures to avoid mosquito bite.

 

 

 

Mosquito repellents, coils and awareness material being distributed among workers

They were encouraged to keep surrounding environment of their houses clean and free from dirty stagnant water which provides ideal breeding site for mosquitoes. Awareness session was concluded by distributing mosquito repellents and coils among all workers.
