An International seminar on “Interventional Cardiology and Oncology” was organized by Departments of Medical Education, Internal Medicine, Cardiology and ORIC in Health Sciences wing of The University of Faisalabad on October 10, 2018. Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid, Director DME, UMDC gave welcome address. Dr Shakeel Ahmad, Head of Cardiology Department, MTH talked about the cardiology services in MTH. A team of foreign experts comprising of Dr Syed Abid Mahmood, MD, FACC, Ex-Chief of Interventional Cardiology, Detroit Medical Center, Michigan, USA, Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr Arshad Jahangir, MD, FACC, FAHA, FHRS, Medical Director, Center for Advanced Atrial Fibrillation Therapies Aurora Cardiovascular Services, Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, WI and Dr Adil Jamal Akhtar, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Medical Oncology & Haematology, Oakland, University William Beaumont School of Medicine gave presentations on case based management of very important cardiac problems including pulmonary embolism, peripheral vascular diseases and cardiac channelopathies. Hematopoietic stem cells transplantation was also discussed. The seminar was heavily attended by cardiologists, faculty members from The University of Faisalabad and other institutions. Chief Guest, Prof Dr Anjum Jalal, Executive Director Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology in his address appreciated the work presented and highlighted the importance of collaboration among institutions to improve health care services for patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases. Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed, Pro Rector Health Sciences thanked the guests and presented University mementos to the chief guest and guest speakers.
