TUF conducts free eye screening at SOS Village

p style="text-align:justify">Students of Doctor of Optometry, The University of Faisalabad, under the supervision of senior optometrists, organized one-day free eye screening camp at SOS Village. More than 250 children were screened and provided free eye checkup and helped in diagnosing various conditions such as glaucoma, poor vision and cataract. Free medications and eye therapy treatment facilities were provided to all. The director of SOS Villages highly appreciated the efforts of TUF and expressed the desire that more camps should be organized where the orphans and deserving families can get quality medical facilities for free.

The University of Faisalabad is now preparing to conduct more eye health screening programmes across the country. TUF School of Optometry aims to extend its services to diverse communities, creating awareness of eye health using cost-effective smartphone technology for a greater impact on society. SOS Children's Villages is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit international development organization headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria. The organization provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children in need and protects their interests and rights around the world. The first SOS Children's Village was founded in 1949 in Tyrol, Austria by an Austrian philanthropist Hermann Gmeiner. Today, SOS Children's Villages is active in 135 countries and territories worldwide.
