Seminar on Stem Cells: Pioneering the Future of Medicine

The Department of Medical Lab Sciences conducted a seminar focusing on Stem Cells: The Future of Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology. The purpose of this seminar was to create awareness about stem cells, its therapy and in which diseases it is applied. Stem cells are a revolutionary discovery in the field of biology and medicine, offering the potential to treat a wide array of diseases and injuries. This seminar aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of stem cells, their types, their therapeutic potential, and the latest advancements in stem cell research and applications. Today living in the 21st century, we still do not have proper treatments for many diseases like diabetes, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, etc. Some light of hope for the treatment of these incurable diseases is - the Stem Cells. Stem-cell therapy uses stem cells to treat or prevent a disease or condition. Stem cells are special types of cells that are able to make more cells. They are found in almost all tissues of the body and they are needed for the maintenance of tissue as well as for repair after injury.

A question-answer session was also held, and the participants from both departments presented information about stem cells, their types, and their uses in the modern era, which increased the understanding of students regarding stem cells and their therapies.

In recent years, stem cell therapy has become a very promising and advanced scientific research topic. The development of treatment methods has evoked great expectations.

Stem cells are vital for regeneration in various tissues because they can easily divide to replace damaged or dead cells. Researchers believe that damaged tissue may be treated by understanding how stem cells function

Students Joined us for an enlightening and informative seminar that delves into the world of stem cells and their transformative potential in medicine. Gained insights from leading experts, explored groundbreaking research, and engaged in meaningful discussions on the future of healthcare.
