OBJECTIVE

Program:

  • To equip students with the knowledge and skills to design, create, and repair dental prostheses and appliances.
  • To train students to use dental materials, equipment, and technology effectively and safely.
  • To foster precision and attention to detail in the fabrication of crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic appliances.
  • To encourage analytical thinking to diagnose and troubleshoot issues in dental prosthetics and appliances.
  • To introduce students to research methodologies and the importance of staying updated with advancements in dental technology.

 Outcomes:

 

  • Dental Laboratories: Graduates can find employment in commercial dental laboratories, where they design and fabricate dental prosthetics and appliances.
  • Dental Offices and Clinics: Some may work directly in dental offices or clinics, collaborating closely with dentists to create and adjust dental devices.
  • Hospitals: Opportunities exist in hospital dental departments, particularly in specialized areas such as maxillofacial prosthetics.
  • Prosthodontic Technician: Specializing in creating dentures, crowns, and bridges.
  • Orthodontic Technician: Focusing on fabricating orthodontic appliances like braces and retainers.
  • Maxillofacial Prosthetics Technician: Working on complex prosthetics for patients with facial deformities or injuries.

Department of Dental Technology was established in 2019 in Health Sciences Wing. We are offering 8-semester graduate program. The Department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to carry out practical and research-based experiments with qualified professionals. Grooming of students is also accomplished by providing them opportunities for various curricular and extra-curricular activities carried out in the University Earning a degree in Dental Technology can be a smart move for students looking to earn entry-level positions in the field.
