VISION

The vision of the Department of Civil Engineering Technology is to train students with the knowledge to become globally and socially dedicated professional civil engineers who will add as assets in the nation-building process.

MISSION

To develop high quality civil engineers having a futuristic approach with qualities of leadership, professionalism and teamwork, through innovative and research oriented education for sustainable socio-economic development.

OBJECTIVE:

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

  • PEO 1: Graduates will have necessary knowledge and skills to develop innovative and comprehensive solutions to Civil Engineering problems.
  • PEO 2: Graduates will have leadership qualities for the uplifting of engineering profession based on technical and managerial skills.
  • PEO 3: Graduates will have effective communication skills and professionalism to contribute in multi-disciplinary projects for socioeconomic development.
  • PEO 4: Graduates will have continuous professional learning and research abilities with special reference to social, environmental and ethical aspects.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

  • PLO-01: Engineering Knowledge: Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PLO-02: Problem Analysis: Ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • PLO-03: Design/Development of Solutions: Ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and electrical considerations.
  • PLO-04: Investigation: Ability to investigate complex engineering problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions.
  • PLO-05: Modern Tool Usage: Ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PLO-06: The Engineer and Society: Ability to apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solution to complex engineering problems.
  • PLO-07: Environment and Sustainability: Ability to understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and electrical contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
  • PLO-08: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.
  • PLO-09: Individual and Team Work: Ability to work effectively, as an individual or in a team, on multifaceted and/or multidisciplinary settings.
  • PLO-10: Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, orally as well as in writing on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentations, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PLO-11: Project Management: Ability to demonstrate management skills and apply engineering principles to one’s own work, as a member and/or leader in a team to manage projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • PLO-12: Lifelong Learning: Ability to recognize importance of, and pursue lifelong learning in the broader context of innovation and technological developments.

ABOUT US

Our Department created in 2015 with the prior approval from PEC and is located in Amin Campus. The Department is fully equipped with the state of the art laboratories, class rooms and the allied infrastructure. We have dedicated faculty in accordance with the requirements of the Department and per standards set out by the HEC/PEC. Our first badge has been passed out.

ACCREDITATION

Department of Civil Engineering is accredited for the following batches:

  • BSc Civil Engineering (Batch 2015-2017)
  • Accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council

STUDENT OUTCOMES

After completion of BS degree in CE our graduates shall be able to:

  • Apply fundamental knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve problems related to civil engineering
  • Design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data in the interdisciplinary arena of Civil Engineering
  • Design the fundamental components of a system or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, construct-ability, and sustainability.
  • Function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Identify, formulate, and solve civil Engineering problems
  • Understand the importance of professional and ethical responsibilities of Engineers
  • Effectively communicate using written, oral, and graphical means
  • Understand the impact of Civil Engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  • Recognize the need for, and engage in, lifelong learning.
  • A knowledge of contemporary issues in the Civil Engineering industry.
  • Use the techniques, skills, and modern Engineering tools necessary in Civil Engineering practice.

After earning the most popular Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Faisalabad, the students shall have lot of opportunities to serve the nation through various public service streams like C&W Department, WASAs, Development Authorities, Environmental Protection Agencies, Local Government Department, Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs), Irrigation Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Pak PWD, Airport Development Authority, National Highway Authority, water wing of WAPDA and too many other nation building Departments, Project Management Units & National/ International Construction Companies.
