The program is designed to cater the growing demand for post graduate scholars in the field of Biochemistry. The program objectives are:
• To equip students for advanced studies and specializations on recently emerging technologies in biochemistry and multidisciplinary fields.
• To make a significant, original and novel contribution to knowledge or understanding of a scholar’s field of study or research question.
• To demonstrate initiative, decision-making skills, critical learning, and flexibility in professional performance in different fields related to biological sciences.
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry is a research-based degree program. It will cater the need of public and private sectors.
This program will allow professional integration of the scholars into the job market in different areas like Academia, Health (Clinical analysis/ Lab.), Forensic Science, Industry (Food, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology) and Environment.
Biochemists work along with chemists, physicists, healthcare professionals, policy makers, engineers in various government and non-governmental organizations; biological, pharmaceutical, agriculture, atomic energy organization (NIBGE, NIAB, NIFA, PINUM, NORI, NIA etc.) and other research organizations like PCSIR, PARC, NARC, EPD, PRI etc. and many more.

*Students with CGPA in MPhil (with research) is below 3.00 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or 60% marks (in the annual system) in the most recent degree obtained will study additional courses of 9-12 CH of level 7 taking a zero semester and score minimum 3.00 out of 4.00 GPA.
** Students from equivalent fields will enroll 6-9 CH of deficiency courses of level 7
