BS/MA English or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.00 GAT(General)/TUF Entry Test with minimum 50% score

Objective

The key objectives of the program are:

  • Inculcate research-based approach in the learners.
  • Develop learners’ comprehension of different genres of spoken and written texts.
  • Familiarize the learners with advance theories of Linguistics.
  • Introduce the learners to a variety of syllabi and teaching methods.
  • Enable the learners to analyze phonology of different languages using software tools.
  • Expose the learners to the latest trends in Linguistics.

Role and Scope

On successful completion of the program, the graduates may choose to work in the field as English language teachers, editors, writers, phoneticians, language therapists, forensic linguistics, critics, grammarians, public relations managers, or they may enroll themselves in a higher research degree like PhD.
