OBJECTIVES

Department of Design and Interiors renders the following objectives to initiate, teach & practice Master of Interior Design program.

  • To prepare professionals in the relevant field by evaluating their individual talent and aptitude by allowing them to explore interdisciplinary mediums & methodologies in design & practice.
  • To bridge gap between academic & professional world by creating a coherent syllabus addressing creative venues and practicality in design through collaboration between various programs and industries.
  • To encourage students on an academic level, to practice and conduct groundbreaking research and collaboration through a more developed design process and produce practice-based outcomes.
  • To develop design strategies that recognize the importance of social and environmental responsibility by understanding design principles and the tools for implementing them to develop meaningful and coherent design propositions in contemporary scenario.
  • To recognize the importance of context in the transformation of space and acknowledge its implications in the formulation of interior design concepts by articulating design phenomena and implement interventions based on the transformation of existing structures in adaptive reuse.

ROLE AND SCOPE

One of the fastest-growing professions in the world, Interior Design is a visionary program that inculcates the power of imagination and creative expression into a tangible domain of the built environment. The Master's degree offered by the Department of Design and Interiors at The University of Faisalabad is perfect for young graduates or professionals working in the field interested in attending a specialization course. The objective of the prospective program is to produce a new professional quality by combining creative and technical skills by stimulating design problems commonly faced not only in Pakistan’s contemporary society but in the international design world as well. Graduates will examine the fundamentals of design together with more advanced topics such as fabrication, and design detailing further enhanced with professional courses in project management and implementation aspects of interior design to equip them with market requirements and great employment perspectives.
