Madina Foundation, following the vision of its founder Chairman Mian Muhammad Saleem (Late) 'Industry, Service & Education', established Medical College in 2003 to fill this vacuum in the medical education in Faisalabad. Since beginning, the College has strived hard and under the table, dynamic leadership and guidance of our present Chairman, Muhammad Haider Amin, has achieved unique honors and distinction. Another distinct feature of the college is that it is a Medical & Dental College for girls only. The College has hired the services of eminent medical professionals from around the country.

Madinah Foundation

Madinah Foundation established by the Group, is one of the leading charitable organizations in the country. Irrespective of any creed, class, caste or religion, the Foundation is serving humanity in the domain of health, higher education and social welfare as well as providing support to numerous charitable institutions in Governmental & Non-Governmental sectors.

So far, the Foundation through its own resources & without any help or support from any national or international agency has spent million of Rupees towards various charitable activities in Pakistan. In pursuance of its vision for enhancement of higher education in Pakistan, sponsored the establishment of The University of Faisalabad in 2002.

The University has been awarded charter by the Government of Punjab vide its ordinance No LX of 2002. It is offering academic programs to attain high standards in education and to emphasize on subjects having high employability.

Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH)

Madinah Teaching Hospital is its integral unit as attached teaching hospital. It has three blocks, namely Hamza Block, Ali Block and Fatima Block. It is providing ‘Free of Cost” comprehensive medical treatment to masses. The services include:

OPD, In-Patient, Radiology, CT Scan, clinical laboratories, well equipped operation theatres, critical care and trauma care center for the population of Faisalabad and its adjoining cities. The hospital is also equipped with state of the art dental equipment.

Madinah Teaching Hospital is registered with Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC). MTH has been awarded ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2015’ and has achieved ISO 9001: 2008 Certification.

Introduction of Medical Section

Medical education in Pakistan, since independence has been the domain of public sector, changing trends in medical education around the world and immense pressure of quality treatment has paved way for private sector to play its part in the field. Faisalabad being the industrial capital of the country had only one Medical College and only two major hospitals to cater to the health and educational needs of over 6 million people.

Second batch of MBBS students has already passed out last year and has been awarded MBBS degree by University of Health Sciences, Lahore.

Madina Teaching Hospital

Madina Teaching Hospital is its integral unit as attached teaching hospital; it is providing 'Free of Cost" comprehensive medical treatment to masses. The services include: OPD, In- Patient, Radiology, CT Scan, Clinical Laboratories, Operations, Critical Care and Trauma care to the population of Faisalabad and its adjoining cities. The hospital has two Blocks, namely Hamza Block and & Ali Block. One of the blocks was inaugurated by the former Chief Minister of Punjab. Over all there are 500 beds available for the patients. A new block with a capacity to accommodate 150 beds is under construction to cater to the ever increasing demands of the growing populations.

Future Plans

School of Physiotherapy has already commenced its classes from last session and to complete the spectrum of Healthcare Delivery System, a School of Medical and Dental Technology is also planned.

Introduction of Dental Section

The 'Dental Section 'of University Medical and Dental College started in 2008 has now established as an institute to groom dental students for graduate and postgraduate degrees. This is the first private sector dental institute that offers programs of dental education to produce competent dental professionals to serves a large population of Central Punjab. We have an excellent faculty to teach and train dental students on scientific grounds, a dedicated staff and latest, state of the art equipments and educational facilities to enhance technical capability of students. This college shall serve to provide professionally skilled human resources at national and international level.

Here at the college, we have created an environment of professionalism built upon standards of ethics and quality. The students are engaged for sustained learning and continuing professional development. The dental students are exposed at an early stage to clinical dentistry through our school health programs which takes students to rural & urban localities of the city & adjoining areas to examine and educate children, and the public at large regarding their oral health care. In order to equip students with real time experience they work on the dental simulation systems in state of the art laboratories.

The postgraduate programs are prepared to promote inter-disciplinary approach of dental education and practice of dentistry that enhance team-work and develop leadership skills in dental graduates. The programs shall increase opportunities of integration of science in clinical practice.

The 'dental clinics' at Madina Teaching hospital has latest oral health care facilities for patients. Highly qualified faculties cater the needs of dental patients at par excellence and provide safe clinical practice. INSHAHALLAH, we are going to have first ever fully digitalized dental hospital, with latest digital radiography equipments and computer generated imaging systems, in the country.

Achievements

Eight batches of University Medical & Dental College (UMDC) have passed out. All are well placed and sizeable number of graduates are taking PLAB for UK and USMLE for USA.

Our graduates have served in well reputed hospitals like Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital Lahore.

She has been selected as Member of American College of Clinical Pharmacology. She is editorial member and reviewer of many well-known International Journals.

Dr. Sundus Tariq

Graduate of UMDC had already 15 papers to her credit in highly acclaimed international journals and one book chapter published in an international book "Advances in Osteoporosis". She has been selected as Member of American Physiological Society.

Secured Second position in all Pakistan Inter universities short story writing competition held at LUMS on November 11, 2013.
