Objectives

The core objectives of the programme are:

• To empower scholars in critical thinking expressing themselves through analytical writing at an advanced level

• To give the opportunities to the scholars to cope with modern and latest trends in theoretical paradigms related to English Literature

• To establish scholars to conduct research at dynamic heights to contribute to newer canons of knowledge

Role and Scope

Doctor of Philosophy leads to newer vistas of knowledge. It flourishes advanced canons of knowledge and experiences greatly valued by many higher seats of learning. Being a research based degree program, it gives the scholars a license to contribute to diverse inter-disciplinary fields of research. This degree program opens newer horizons for the degree holders. A specialization at Doctorate level offers phenomenal scope of pursuits. The degree holders have brighter future prospects than before. Unlimited career opportunities at national and international level await graduates of this program. These opportunities make the stakeholders nationally and internationally recognized. The achievement of the degree opens newer avenues for doctorates by enthusiastically prompting them for post-doc.

  • Eligibility

    18 of Education, MS/M Phil or Equivalent degree from HEC recognized university with minimum 3.00/4.00 CGPA in semester system or 60% marks in Annual system. All the applicants having MS/MPhil or Equivalent degree (18 Years Education) may be given waiver in coursework as per HEC policy. A Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test administered by the Education testing Service, or a graduate admission test administered by the Education Testing Council, or an equivalent TUF test developed by TUF is mandatory to pass. For the interview, the applicant shall also be required to submit a ‘Statement of Purpose’
