MS Physical Therapy

Objective

The program is designed to achieve the following objectives on completion of the degree:

 1. Explain the clinical reasoning skills necessary for examination, assessment, and treatment techniques. These same skills will help the therapist develop the   ability to continue to monitor their own clinical skill level.

 2. Conduct an effective and comprehensive patient interview, which will enable development of a working clinical hypothesis as to the patient’s primary   problem, a foundation to performing an objective examination

 3. Perform an integrated physical examination, including differential diagnosis, for clients with various neurologic conditions

 4. Create appropriate specific clinic and home therapeutic exercise program techniques related to all areas of examination noted above and   integrate these techniques into the treatment plan as indicated

 5. Critically analyze current scientific literature

 6. Conduct clinical research projects

Role and Scope

Specialized neuromuscular physical therapist can assess patients for neuro-muscular conditions, set a plan of action with the patient in conjunction with their realistic expectations and goals thus provide a rehabilitation programme for a specified referred condition. They able for self-management principles /processes to help reduce recurrence of symptoms and escalate to Neuromuscular physical therapy expert services for further management as required if patient not improving.

They can work in rehab programs more effectively in OPD’s and Neuro IPD, stroke rehab clinic, pain management’s clinics.
