Role and Scope

Prosthetics and Orthotics is a specialized, allied health care field that helps patients to regain mobility after loss of a limb, or function. Prosthetics is the design, manufacturing and fitting of artificial devices to replace lost limbs, hands or feet; and, orthotics is the design and fitting of ort

• As a clinical prosthetist and orthoptist can work in ambulatory healthcare services, health and personal care stores, in government hospital, in private clinic

• Can own personal medical equipment and supplies manufacturing company

• Can work as policy maker in local, state, and federal government agencies and public health departments

• As an academician to teaching to under & post graduates

• As a research orthopedic braces or supports to correct musculoskeletal problems.
