The program is developed to achieve the following objectives:
To generate an extensive coherent body of knowledge, with depth in the underlying principles and concepts of interdisciplinary subjects including creative coding, photography and animation, editorial, advertising, illustration, publishing, interactive, new media, packaging, identity, experience, motion graphics, installations and exhibitions.
To develop cognitive skills of individuals to critically analyze, consolidate and synthesize knowledge to identify and solve problems with intellectual independence and cultivate communication skills to present coherent and independent exposition of knowledge and ideas.
To reflect the application of acquired knowledge and technical skills with responsibility and accountability for own learning and professional practice and in collaboration with others within broad parameters.
To demonstrate a sound and critical understanding of various theories of visual design and their relationship to design history, design practice and broader theories of culture and knowledge and its implications in exploring design situations and outcomes for a range of contemporary scenarios.
To curate skills and knowledge of the practices, languages, forms, materials, technologies and techniques in the visual communication design discipline and apply these relevant skills and knowledge to produce and realize works, artefacts and forms of design expression through creative, critical and reflective thinking and practice.
• The University of Faisalabad offers a 4 year Bachelor of Design degree in Visual Communication, a visionary professional program addressing to the advanced scope of communication technologies and traditional and emerging design practices developing visual languages that allow to work across digital, physical and analogue media.
• The degree offers an array of tools, strategies and design thinking methodologies over the period of 8 semesters that enable students to become adaptive, multidisciplinary communications designers.
• Specialized visual design skills are employed in a range of careers such as graphic design, app design, illustration, concept art, games design, web design, typography, animation, advertising, UX design and visual storytelling.
• After the completion of the bachelor programs students will be equipped to create visual materials across a variety of visual formats and channels including broadcast, web, film, television, advertising, publishing, and game industry.
